Well, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, right? We can certainly hope that is the case. Over the weekend we did get some snow and rain, and I spent more time in the plow truck over this past weekend than I did the entire month of February.
The water level in the lake keeps rising; it was above normal by 7.08″ and 37° on March 1st. This was, of course, before the snow and rain fell. I would assume the temp might have crept up a tad, and I am nearly certain the height would be up after the rain. Weather.com actually says that we have had .99″ of precipitation (measured as water, not snow amounts) already this month. Last month had a total of .85″ so we are already ahead of that by a good margin.
Here are the February records for temperature and precipitation.
These are the March totals so far.
Although it is cold out today with quite a bit of wind, it seems like Spring like temps are on the horizon for the rest of the week. According to the weather channel, it will be 60° on Thursday. If things do indeed warm up like that, I think we should still be on target for opening the roads and seasonal section on time. Happy Monday, and think Spring!
