I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for coming out Sunday morning and having breakfast with us. We served scrambled eggs, home-fries, bacon, sausage, and toast to about 50 people! We also had fruit salad, pastries and mini muffins as well. It was really great to see everyone back up for the season and having a good time.
Lyndi said the eggs were yummy!
Jonah had nothing to say at all..
The weather for the weekend ended up being really nice, even though they predicted rain. All we ever saw was nice warm weather with lots of sun. The lake is actually already up to 68° and rising! Not bad for the end of May. The rest of the week looks decent, but the weekend is looking a bit wet.
The next event I have on the countdown here on the blog is the Fireworks down at Alton Bay. They have the Summer Concert Series scheduled for just before it, and the fireworks start at dark, around 9:20.
Last year the fireworks turned out really nice, and Lyndi had fun dancing at the concert before hand! Hopefully it all works out great again and the weather is nice. Lyndi is excited and waiting!
Well, it is that time again! The weather is nice, people are around, and things are looking nice.
We have the pool cleaned and filled, although it isn’t quite open yet. We are still getting the chemicals all balanced out, but it should be open soon. The water is still very cold though, around the 50° mark. The lake is actually already up to 63°!
Now I would like to thank the veterans out there. About a month or so ago I was walking in to daycare with Lyndi. There was a guy in fatigues just coming out. He held the door for me and I thanked him for doing so. I then thanked him for serving. He instantly brightened up, smiled and gave a hearty “no problem, thanks for the support!” I must say that his reaction really made my day. I felt like I had made a positive impact on his day. It is because of men and women like him that I am able to take my daughter to daycare 3 days a week. It’s why I am able to enjoy such a nice weekend, work in the yard, and sit on my couch writing this post. Our soldiers and veterans have made great sacrifices so that my family can rest easy at night and enjoy our freedoms from day-to-day. So I would like to give a very heartfelt thanks to all our heroes out there. You make my life possible and I am thankful for that each and every day. So if you have never thanked a soldier or veteran, please do so. It will make them feel appreciated and it really will make your day as well!
Well, I finally have a bit o time and some brainpower to do an update for everyone. Last Saturday we welcomed our baby boy Jonah Charles White into the world at 3:51 in the afternoon! He and mom and healthy, happy, and perfect. He was 7lbs 8oz and 20″ long.
I thought most people were aware, but for those that didn’t realize, we had him right here at home. With a rented inflatable birth tub and a team of 2 midwives and an assistant, everything went smooth. I would like to send a HUGE thanks to our neighbors George and Joyce for letting us use their larger hot water heater to fill the tub. That was an enormous help as we could not have filled the tub in time without it.
Having him at home was a wonderful experience. We did not have to drive anywhere, there was no wishing for things we had at home and not at the hospital, and we were simply more comfortable. As you can see in the picture with Lyndi, she adores her new brother and always wants to hug and kiss him. We are all very happy, even if we are a bit tired!
