Summer winds down, State Fairs wind up

Even though the weather is staying warm and muggy, the days are getting shorter. The nights are getting cool. The leaves are actually starting to fall off the Maple tree next to the pool.  The burning bushes are starting to burn.  And Labor Day is quickly approaching. As much as I don’t like it, it happens every year. On the up side, Fall can be a fantastic time of year.  The foliage is great, the weather is usually nice and cool at night, and the state fairs are going on.

The one thing I think I love most about fall is the fairs.  Taking Lyndi to see all the animals is always fun. She loves to watch the horses run and jump, and it sure is nice to be outside without worrying about it being too hot for the kids. The Deerfield Fair is usually thought of as the biggest and best in the state.  Tickets are $10 per adult, and kids under 12 are free. I just realized this year that you can buy tickets online and print them off so you can skip the long ticket line and walk right in! There is a ton of fun stuff to be done there like Sheepdog demonstrations, tractor pulls, rides, food, and a ton of animals. For a list of all the events, check out this link.

The pool may be cooling off and summer is winding down, but remember there is still a way to go before Winter closes in on us!
